Meet Dr. Thompson
Florida native R. Scott Thompson grew up on the West Coast of Florida, earning a degree in chemistry from the University of South Florida in Tampa. He accepted a Robert W. Woodruff Graduate Fellowship in Dentistry at Emory University where he earned the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1988. He holds Fellowships with the International College of Dentists and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Thompson is active in organized dentistry, with membership in all local components of the American and Florida Dental Associations. Involvement in the Venice community is very important to Dr. Thompson, and he is actively involved with the Venice Symphony and Venice Sertoma Club.
Dr. Thompson and his wife Tatiana have two children, Kalynna and Jeffrey. They have lived in Venice for more than 15 years. Both children attend The Pine View School and enjoy typical kid activities. When the opportunity permits, the family enjoys biking, hiking and western vacations. Dr. Thompson has a passion for fly fishing, history books, and odd British cars.
